Why do only some airplanes and ships disappear in the Bermuda Triangle?

So I'm sure most everyone has head about the disappearances dealing with the Bermuda Triangle. Well, I had one question. Does anyone know why only a select few people get lost and disappear in the Bermuda Triangle? Like Flight 19, those five planes got lost, another plane went out to get them that also got lost, but they sent out a search and rescue team and they never got lost or disappeared. They would've had to have flown or sailed through the same general area they had been flying, right? So how did they not disappear?
