Would you want to read a book that had this beginning sentence?

i have something of a deductive mind, thus when i read this i got the notion of a thriller of some sort. i have literally never read a book but i would consider reading this. mind you, a single sentence is not indicative of the quality of the rest of the book but it is insinuative of potential.
