Skin breakout after waxing?

So, about two weeks ago I waxed my butt. I used some sort of DIY microwave wax. I'm a guy, and my cheeks don't have that much hair on them, but I figured "what the hell, most guys prefer smooth butts for some reason (i prefer hairy ones)". However, the skin broke out a few days ago. I have *never* had this on my butt before. I don't know if they're pimples or just weird reactions or something. How long will they last and how can I speed up their disappearance?
